1. Our Position

South London Acro takes any form of sexual harassment, coercion, assault and/or violence seriously, and this behaviour will not be tolerated in the South London Acro community, be it in jams, open training, classes, workshops or events.

2. Application

This guidance applies to everyone taking part in South London Acro activities, including participants, teachers, volunteers and organisers.

3. Reporting a Concern

You can raise a concern in either of these ways:

• Email our safeguarding lead at kwame@acrojams.co.uk.
• Speak to an organiser at a jam or event, who will pass it on.

We treat what you tell us as confidential and share it only where we need to in order to keep people safe: with the police or other authorities where the law requires, with recognised safeguarding structures, or, in a narrow set of cases, with the organiser of a session the person may attend. We share the minimum, we record every disclosure, and we will normally tell the person a concern is about that one has been raised, without identifying who raised it. We do not promise silence, and we will tell you if we need to go further than this.

4. What Happens Next

Depending on what we find, we may take no action, record a warning, set conditions on attendance, suspend access for a fixed period, or exclude someone permanently. Every decision is recorded with its reasons, the person is told what was decided, and they can ask for it to be reconsidered.

5. In an Emergency

In cases of sexual assault or violence, please report immediately to the police or a Sexual Assault Referral Centre. You do not need to tell us first, and you do not need our permission.

6. This Is Interim Guidance

We are continuing to develop our safeguarding practice, including training on receiving disclosures and a fuller reporting and confidentiality process. This page will be updated as that work progresses.
